When he visits his father each month, they both switch off and pick what they are going to do. This time it was his fathers pick and he picked to go white water rafting, at first he was against Greg was against the idea of going so was his mother. When his parents found out he was listeningin on their conversation about this they made him go. To find out what happens on this adventure i strongly recommend getting this book and reading it u won't regret it.

Dorros' work is the story of Ehmet, a Bosnian boy who is forced to leave his hometown of Sarajevo and make his way to his grandparents who live in Croatia 400 miles away. Never has a story shown a child so young who seemed at the same time profoundly aged by the events around him. Within a few chapters the change in Ehmet is staggering as he transitions from tree climber to a serious young man who sleeps during the day and pretends to be Muslim because it's safer. Throughout the work the effects of illogic and bureaucracy are boggling; Ehmet's attempts to be united with family are stymied by paperwork and technicalities. In one heart-wrenching scene, Ehmet has found his best friend Milan in a camp but when the family is moved to another camp they cannot take Ehmet along because they aren't really his family. A brilliant protagonist, Ehmet adapts to the situation around him with balanced and intensely accurate emotional outbursts and repressions. As complex as the war itself, Ehmet's thought processes work constantly to make sense of what is going and are particularly telling when he meets up with childhood bully Darko at a children's camp. Disturbingly realistic, this book will be an eye-opening history lesson for those who watched these events unfold on the news. Readers will be disappointed in themselves when they realize how easily most of us can forget what happened just a few short years ago. Logical but not moralizing, Under The Sun has classroom potential.

(More customer reviews)The Book Run for Your Life is a really interesting book. I picked the book because the cover of the book looked interesting. When I first started reading the book I didnt think I was going to like it but I kept reading it and it got very interesting.
This book is about a girl named Kisha. Kisha is growing up in the projects. She lives in Oakland, CA. Kisha has started running track at the community center for a man named Darren who is her coach. She is on the team with her best friends Notonia, Jennifer, Ester, Shanika and Malika. Kisha spends most of her time at the community center. She lives with her mother,brother and her father. Kisha is going through a lot of problems at home with her parents.She finds out that her friends on the track team have similar problems with their parents.
I would strongly recommend this book to anyone that is going through a lot of problems with their parents at home.I would rate this book as a 10. In this book I like the way the author writes exactly how a child would speak.
Run for Your Life is really a great book. It could help most teens with thier problems at home.

My Name Is Bilal Review

(More customer reviews)Portrays a familiar school situation with depth and sensitivity. Other kids at Bilal's new school tear off his sister's head scarf and make anti-Muslim remarks. Bilal feels he needs to hide his Muslim identity, and we (the readers) understand why. We all understand what it's like to be singled-out and afraid, even if our specific situation is not the same as Bilal's. Some concerned adults help Bilal feel comfortable about embracing his identity as a Muslim, but Bilal finds a way to make peace with the bully all on his own. Bilal's solution has to do with teamwork and sportsmanship, and it gives us insight into Bilal's developing character. Spirituality is built into the story in a subtle and satisfying way. This multi-layered story will appeal people of many faiths. Bilal's story transcends categories of religion or nationality.
