I know lots of companies looking to squeeze more work out fewer people these days. For them, I highly recommend having their teams read Mystic Cool. It balances out the technical and hard skills that are currently being taught in organization with a skill set that allows individuals to face the apprehension of change and the demand for high performance. This book teaches people not just how to survive the the challenges we all face, but how to flourish in the face of adversity.
Don Goewey does a great job translating scientific findings into an easy-to-use program that works, no matter who you are or what you do. All the tools and techniques he teaches in this book are great, and the "Clear Button" was a real family saver for me. Whether its the end of the day or the end of the week, in a matter of seconds I can now take all my business concerns and endless chatter I have in my head and turn it off. When Dad is home, dad is home. Now, not only can I enjoy my time away from the office but the time I have at home so much more.

Addicted to Stress: A Woman's 7 Step Program to Reclaim Joy and Spontaneity in Life Review

Addicted to Stress: A Woman's 7 Step Program to Reclaim Joy and Spontaneity in Life

If there's one thing that women everywhere know about, it's stress. Stress about kids, relationships, work, dinner, laundry...the list goes on and on. In fact, one might say women are "addicted to stress." Which is exactly the idea behind Debbie Mandel's ingenious new book. In it, she likens a woman's tireless work to identity theft and points out the irony of calling a never-ending to-do list that we use to keep ourselves occupied every moment of every day "progress." But there's good news - we're only 7 simple steps away from changing our lives. Mandel helps women understand that stress addiction is a real problem, recognize the signs, and take action to improve our health and better our lives. And she's got her work cut out for her; after all, one of the major problems with stress addiction is that women today feel they need to keep busy in order to thrive. How often do you find yourself with free time, only to wonder what work or chores you could be getting done instead? Sure, we know we're busy, but we relish the purpose and sense of accomplishment, right? It turns out that stress may be affecting our lives in more ways than we realize, damaging our relationships, our family life, and even our health. Mandel's book is as interactive as it is informative, and it's absolutely a must read for anyone who experiences even a little stress in her daily life (which, let's face it, is pretty much everyone). With anecdotes from women you can relate to, questions and activities to really get you thinking about your own life, and advice to change everything from your diet and your house to your routine and your mindset, this book has the potential to really make a difference in your life. So enough with the excuses - finding the time to read this book will mean finding the time to rediscover yourself.

Don't Pop Your Cork on Mondays: The Children's Anti-Stress Book Review

I am a counseling intern working with a head start type program that works with parents and preschoolers. I used this book to teach the children and parents about stress management! The book teaches children breathing techniques, guided imagery, and progressive muscle relaxation (all stress reducing activities that are used for adults).
For preschoolers, I skipped over some of the big words, but it has great illustrations and comparisons! It takes a difficult to understand concept and makes it understandable and managable for children.

I fell in love with Lori Lite's books from the first time I saw them. They were exactly what I had been searching for since I began conducting psychotherapy with children. Teaching children visualization and relaxation techniques has often been a difficult feat until I began using books such as Bubble Riding and CDs such as Indigo Dreams, both Lori Lite creations. This book in particular has been integral in my treatment of anxiety related to sleep and overcoming other nighttime fears. It has also helped with school and social anxiety and pain management. I recommend all of her books and CD's very highly! -Summer Sullivan, Ph.D.

I am a high "A" personality ... while that's not a bad thing, it does cause me to think that I actually must complete a task for it to be done correctly! However, after meeting Peggy, experiencing her presentation and then reading her book, I've discovered that I really DON'T have to do everything myself and that YES, it is okay to ask for help. In fact, it is imperative to the quality of my life, and the quality of life of others around me, for me to ask for help. And, after asking for help, to accept that they will handle things differently than me and that that is just fine. Not only does it help me, but it helps them too. This book and this woman, have given me permission to let go and allow others to help me. This really has been a life changing experience for me.

What's Your Body Telling You? Listening To Your Body's Signals to Stop Anxiety, Erase Self-Doubt and Achieve True Wellness Review

What's Your Body Telling You Listening To Your Body's Signals to Stop Anxiety, Erase Self-Doubt and Achieve True Wellness
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Every once in awhile, you come across a book and its concept hits home like no other. What's Your Body Telling You? is that book. How many times have you told yourself, "If I had only listened to my gut." That's because your body never lies and is always communicating with you, letting you know why you're reacting to something or what's the best decision to make. So many times we let our brains take over or our heart lead us in the wrong direction and end up regretting something, thinking, gee, I should have listened to my body. Finally, there's a book that teaches us how to do just that.
Therapist and author Steve Sisgold will teach you how to discover ways to achieve Whole Body Consciousness -- a broadened state of mind that helps you see your fears and desires, then takes appropriate steps toward genuine fulfillment. Instead of just counseling the reader, which he does so genuinely, Sisgold takes you on his personal journey and others, giving real life examples how listening to your body can change your life. You'll find yourself often thinking, "That sounds like me" or "I know that I do that!" throughout the book. Whether it be in relationships or more success with your career, these exercises and stories will teach readers how to stop over-thinking and start trusting their natural instincts. Our bodies always let us know when we're unhappy, tense, uncomfortable, or unsure. So isn't it time we start listening to our bodies more, especially during these challenging times?
I recently had the pleasure of meeting Steve Sisgold live and hearing him educate the crowd on how listening to their bodies can change their lives. As a longtime member of the press and now the head of a publicity company, I've heard a lot of self-help authors talk and share their ideas. Most leading experts teach us techniques with the mind, though, whereas Sisgold does just the opposite -- he shows you how to get out of your head and into your body. It makes the most sense, yet we've forgotten how to listen and trust our bodies and overthinking takes over. Well, ask yourself how that's been working for you over the years? Whatever you want to create in your life, this book will teach you how to move forward and erase self doubt and old patterns. I've already read the book twice and there are few pages that don't have something highlighted as a reminder for myself! Do yourself a life-changing favor and buy this book today.

This wonderful book by Lori Lite offers children the chance to learn relaxation skills and a postive psychological outlook like no other work I am aware of. The beautiful illustrations and engaging dialogue surpass any other resources I have come across in my field of psychology. I look forward to utilizing this book and Lori's other products in my practice. A trial run with my own children was effective and left them asking for more.
