This is a great kid's book! All kids want to know that they can do ANYTHING difficult, and that it just takes confidence. The book is not too wordy, so young children (I have a 2 yr old who loves it) can pay attention between pages. The main theme of unconditional support makes you feel really good by the end of the book. My little girl talks about it so often during the day whenever she tries to do something for the first time. She says, "Just like Kama mommy! I can do it!" Of course I also get the "Just like green eggs & ham mommy...you have to TRY it", when she is mixing ketchup and pudding together! Anyway, I recommend this book highly, as well as any other book by Pat Hall (Kona Town Musicians & Musubi Man) and Malia Maness (The Toad that Taught Flying & Curious Kimo). I love Curious Kimo the best! I used to live in Hawaii, so I really love to hear the names and look at Mrs. Hall's wonderful illustrations. It really brings me back!
